- The Illinois chapter formed a Legislative Committee – co-chaired by IL Chapter Board Members Paul Jenkins and Mike Saltijeral. We have general members who have been doing some lobbying on their own and the committee will bring members/volunteers in to work in a coordinated effort, set targets (e.g. USDOT/IDOT, City of Chicago, Cook County, etc.), and connect with policy makers.
- The Illinois chapter formed a Marketing Committee Marketing committees being chaired by IL chapter board member David Rambhajan. The committee will use member volunteers to focus on social media, organization messaging, outreach, and fundraising.
- We’re creating a survey that will be distributed among our list to gather feedback on things our chapter can do in 2017
- The IL chapter had a capacity crowd for yesterday’s Chapter meeting—we had to cut registration for the event at 80 people. Details on the event are at http://elitejanuary2017.eventbrite.com (you’ll need to click on View Details). Featured guest speakers from Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, Walgreens, and A Safe Haven
This didn’t happen in time to make it into the press release, but yesterday morning, the Tollway also awarded its largest Prime contract ever to one of Elite’s Illinois members, Industrial Fence ($6M contract to construct fencing along 50 miles of Tollway roads). This is also the largest Prime contract awarded to a participant in the State’s Veterans Business Program.
